Chris put on the Texas Rangers baseball game. And Macy was hyperaware of him sitting next to her on the couch. She liked the way he felt pressed against her side.

After a few minutes, Chris put his hand under her chin and tilted her head back so that he could kiss her more deeply. She wanted this.

She'd always wanted more with Chris than she'd ever gotten. In high school she'd been too into herself to really think about making out, but Chris had ensured each kiss they'd shared had been hotter than the one before it.

Kissing Chris now took her one step closer to reclaiming her femininity and the woman she was becoming. His tongue tangled with hers and the kiss was passionate but not overpowering. Much like Chris him self. His lips were soft against hers and when he pulled back and looked down at her, his blue eyes were filled with passion.

“You taste…like something so irresistible, I want more,” he said.

“Me too,” she admitted.

“Good.”

“Why didn't you kiss me when you dropped me off at my car this morning?”

He kissed her again. “I wasn’t sure I wanted to let this go any further.”

“Why not?”

“You broke my heart, Macy, when you dumped me. And I know it was just puppy love, but I don’t want to let you do that to me again,” he said.

She turned on the couch to face him and put her hands on his shoulders. “I’m so sorry, Chris. I wish…I wish I could have been someone else back then. Someone who would have seen you for the wonderful man you are today, but I wasn’t.”

“I don’t want you to be someone else,” he said. “I liked that brash, flirty girl who thought she was the center of the universe.”

Macy had to laugh at the way he described her. She had been too full of herself. And life had made sure that she had learned the hard way there was more than just Macy Reynolds in it.

“Want to make out?” he asked. “We didn’t really get to that much in high school and I want to put my hands on you, Macy.”

“I’m not sure…I am still scarred from my accident. And I’m not very experienced. I’m sure you’ve had lots of experience.” Oh, my God, she thought, I’m rambling. But she couldn’t help it.

He ran his hands up and down her back before drawing her hips forward so they were pressed close together. He maneuvered them on the couch so that he was lying against the back and she was cradled in his arms. She wanted this and so much more.

“I knew one kiss wouldn’t be enough,” he said against her lips.

She shifted against him and continued kissing him as she caressed him through his T-shirt. He’d changed into a pair of khaki shorts and a T-shirt to help her clean her house.

“You feel so muscular,” she said.

He laughed a bit self-consciously. “I try to work out at least once a day when I’m in Dallas. I spend so much time sitting at my desk otherwise.
